My piece Calico Whimsy, is a puzzling study of a calico in the Whimsical Realism style I've enjoyed since working as a freelance artist for Swansons Nursery beginning back in 1992. I have recently been revisiting this whimsical style, perhaps as an escape from political and environmental realities. I like that Whimsical Realism opens the possibility for a parallel narrative, which I plan to explore this winter in my work. I am also open to portrait commissions of individual cats, if allowed artistic license to represent them as subjects in this/similar series.
